First off: excellent article. I take your argument that the majority of Cryptocoins are crap, but I disagree with the notion that just because you can’t read the code you therefore should not invest in anything other than Bitcoin. By your argument, if you can’t read the code, then you shouldn’t be investing in Bitcoin either! Investing has risks, and despite quarterly earnings estimates, P/E ratios and all the other information we get as stock investors we still run into the occasional Theranos and Enron’s of the stock world. Perfect knowledge doesn’t exist, and even though I don’t understand the coding behind video games I can still play. If I can’t read the code, then I’ll listen to the ones that can. Your voice is one, but then there are countless others as well. Through listening to podcasts with the coders, and examining their whitepapers and other documents we can get a better idea of what we invest in — code read or not. There will always be a mystery behind the code curtain, and given discovered bugs that catch even experienced developers unawares, these surprises exist for coders as well.
